Newsito: Rancho Oasis' New & Future Location!!!

Bienvenidos / Welcome
to the new location
 of Rancho Oasis for Youth!

After nearly two years of waiting for clarity about the permanent location of Rancho Oasis for Youth in Honduras, we are so excited to share with you that we are the proud owners of a beautiful, 17 acre property in Payaguagre, Ojojona!!!

After receiving the appraised value of our current 4.25 acre location, we realized that the land use was already maxed out and there was no room for the growth & expansion of the vision of Rancho Oasis. We are grateful for the opportunity to live & minister in the village, but God is moving us on…

There is a large amount of work before us, but we are confident in God’s direction and provision. We will be starting with a “clean slate” as we continue to expand God’s Kingdom in Honduras.

The land has:

      ·       A natural, continual flowing water source from inside the mountain (no need for a well)
      ·       17 acres of relatively flat land that includes pasture and forest
      ·       A large adobe brick home in fair condition with wooden ceiling, tile floors and flushing toilets!
      ·       A closer proximity to Ojojona. Therefore, our ministry reach will extend into town (4,000 people) while still allowing us to minister to the village of El Circulo (400 people).

Initial projects include:

      ·       Installing electricity (this involves coordinating with the village of Ojojona to run electricity to the entrance of the property, as well as lines to the structures on the grounds. We are also investigating solar power alternatives, such as water heaters and lighting for barns.)
      ·       Repairing/grading the road to the property – there is a half a kilometer (~1,640 ft) that needs some T.L.C.
      ·       Fixing & installing proper fencing for the animals
      ·       Building a simple barn for the animals
      ·       Building an adobe brick home for the Beard family
      ·       Building adobe brick homes for RO4Y staff (Ilsy & her daughter Lissye and Lucinda)
·       Repairing the adobe brick house on the property

To complete the purchase of the property, our amazing support team raised $40,000 in one month’s time!!! God is so faithful through His Church! Those generous investments into the Kingdom and an interest free loan for $60,000 have allowed us to pay for not only the purchase of the property, but ALL the fees AND gives us about $10,000 to use for initial improvement projects on the property.

The Ranch has committed to pay off our lender, a Christian Non-Profit Organization, the interest free note in five years. This means that we have a new payment of $1,000 a month.

Please pray with us for vision and direction for the new property. We will be making decisions about the layout of the land over the next few months and want to seek God’s guidance and hear His direction. Our plan is to continue to live and minister on the smaller property, until the new property is ready for our arrival.

We love you guys and are excited to have many of you work alongside us this year in Payaguagre!!!

After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west.  I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”

Genesis 13:14-17 (NLT)

Ilsy teaches the Word to the girl's study.
Fact #1:
To raise awareness of the ministry happening

God’s Spirit is changing the lives of children, teens
and their families in the rural mountains of southern Honduras.

Your friendship, partnership and prayers are critical for our success!
Will you join our support team?

[Paul & Barnabas] called the church together and reported everything God had done through them. Acts 14:27 (NLT)
To increase our financial support so we can influence more lives

The Ranch has been blessed with consistent financial giving to cover all of our basic ministry needs. With more monthly support we can expand current projects that we have in the community to help with people's standard of living and mental/spiritual health, plus give us more in roads to communicate the Gospel.  The reality is that money is necessary to provide the services we offer to the youth of Ojojona and Tegucigalpa.

We are also finalizing paperwork regarding the purchase of a new 17 acre property.
(Four times the size of our current location). Once the property is officially ours,
we will be collecting funds to improve the property and pay off our interest-free loan!

A large financial invest would be a major blessing.

Please inquire about other financial needs,
including funds needed for a new ministry passenger van.

We trust that God will provide for the ministry's needs;
Is He calling you to be involved financially?

You Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News. Phil 4:15 (NLT)

Calvary Chapel Cedar Rapids, one of many missions teams
(of all sizes) to serve in 2013.
Fact #3:
To call the body of Christ to come along side us
by organizing short-term missions teams

The majority of the Ranch’s construction projects are completed by groups and the money & labor they put into the buildings. Completed projects mean more opportunity to share the Gospel. We've also expanded outreach to the community via VBS, community/RO4Y family construction projects, health seminars, a youth purity conference, rummage sales and special dinners. Teams have also joined us by participating in the regular scheduled events of the ministry week.

The new property is very rustic and needs a lot of work to prepare us for the ministry season of 2014. The entry "road" needs fixing, more houses need to be built (one large house is on the property), electricity installed and animal stalls and fencing need to be constructed. We are hoping to accomplish these tasks November - December of 2013 to engage in "regular" ministry events in 2014.

We also recognize the dynamic spiritual change that can happen during a missions trip. Marillyn and I are serving as full-time missionaries because of our short-term experiences.

It’s a kingdom building investment at the Ranch and in your life.
Is God calling you to invest a week or more of your life for His kingdom in Honduras this year?

The Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2 (NLT)

Lucinda, our first full-time staff! Praying for more!

Chelsey our only 3-month intern for 2013. Praying for three or more in 2014!
Fact #4:
To recruit short-term (3 month) and long-term staff & families

In the field, Rancho Oasis is one full-time North American staff, two full-time Honduran staff and a family of six that includes one Spanish speaking adult, a deaf woman and four children under the age of seven. We are stretched to the max and amazed at all that God is doing. We’ve seen God move even more when another adult or young person joins us in ministry.

Reality is we can’t accomplish what God has called us to do on our own.
God is preparing each one of us in the body of Christ to serve and advance His kingdom.
Will you test God’s faithfulness to you at Rancho Oasis?

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Zoeva takes an afternoon siesta.
Fact #5:
For some R & R: "Refreshment and Rejuvenation"

10 months of ministry with all of its ups and downs can be invigorating to the soul, but draining on the body. The Beards are looking forward to reconnecting with friends and family, as well as enjoying time as a family!

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying,
our spirits are being renewed every day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NLT)

We look forward to seeing you this Fall!!
Keep these goals in your prayers!!!
