Newsito: Rancho Oasis' New & Future Location!!!

to the new location
 of Rancho Oasis for Youth!

After nearly two years of waiting for clarity about the permanent location of Rancho Oasis for Youth in Honduras, we are so excited to share with you that we are the proud owners of a beautiful, 17 acre property in Payaguagre, Ojojona!!!

After receiving the appraised value of our current 4.25 acre location, we realized that the land use was already maxed out and there was no room for the growth & expansion of the vision of Rancho Oasis. We are grateful for the opportunity to live & minister in the village, but God is moving us on…

There is a large amount of work before us, but we are confident in God’s direction and provision. We will be starting with a “clean slate” as we continue to expand God’s Kingdom in Honduras.

The land has:

      ·       A natural, continual flowing water source from inside the mountain (no need for a well)

      ·       17 acres of relatively flat land that includes pasture and forest

      ·       A large adobe brick home in fair condition with wooden ceiling, tile floors and flushing toilets!

      ·       A closer proximity to Ojojona. Therefore, our ministry reach will extend into town (4,000 people) while still allowing us to minister to the village of El Circulo (400 people).

Initial projects include:

      

      ·       Installing electricity (this involves coordinating with the village of Ojojona to run electricity to the entrance of the property, as well as lines to the structures on the grounds. We are also investigating solar power alternatives, such as water heaters and lighting for barns.)

      ·       Repairing/grading the road to the property – there is a half a kilometer (~1,640 ft) that needs some T.L.C.

      ·       Fixing & installing proper fencing for the animals

      ·       Building a simple barn for the animals

      ·       Building an adobe brick home for the Beard family

      ·       Building adobe brick homes for RO4Y staff (Ilsy & her daughter Lissye and Lucinda)
·       Repairing the adobe brick house on the property

      

To complete the purchase of the property, our amazing support team raised $40,000 in one month’s time!!! God is so faithful through His Church! Those generous investments into the Kingdom and an interest free loan for $60,000 have allowed us to pay for not only the purchase of the property, but ALL the fees AND gives us about $10,000 to use for initial improvement projects on the property.

The Ranch has committed to pay off our lender, a Christian Non-Profit Organization, the interest free note in five years. This means that we have a new payment of $1,000 a month.

Please pray with us for vision and direction for the new property. We will be making decisions about the layout of the land over the next few months and want to seek God’s guidance and hear His direction. Our plan is to continue to live and minister on the smaller property, until the new property is ready for our arrival.

We love you guys and are excited to have many of you work alongside us this year in Payaguagre!!!
