2013 - Weeks 20 - 22 Photo 'n Prayer Review

WEEK 20

Bienvenidas Chelsey!
The Ranch's latest intern and Lucinda's new housemate!

PRAY for Chelsey and her three months at the Ranch.
Chelsey brought her pastor and his wife, Chuck and Mary,
to join her for her first week at the Ranch. It was a full house of fellowship!

Jon took Chelsey, Mary and Chuck to visit Jesus at El Picachu Park in Tegucigalpa.
The statue was already closed when we arrived,
but Jon sweet talked Jesus' guard into letting us in for a few snapshots.
Story Time!
The Beard children initiate Chelsey into life at the Ranch.

Jon has recently restarted "Daddy Date Night" with the girls.
Tabi and Jon play some on-line video games and sip smoothies
at El Gringo Cafe in Santa Ana.

Exact-o knives, cutting mats and varnish help create better products for our Taller CDP.
Marillyn assists Carlos and Ana Melissa with their paper beads.

Tuesday afternoon guitar class is a Rancho Oasis staple during our weekly activities.
This year we have a beginner (pictured above) and an intermediate level!
PRAY that these kids would learn to worship in Spirit and in truth.

Wednesday afternoon boy's Bible study worship band:
Gerson on bass, Genderson on powerpoint and Nexser on the cajon drum.
These boys are at a pivotal age in their spiritual growth. Once they graduate from elementary school, most boys here in Honduras lose interest in God. PRAY that God will capture their hearts and create their passions.

Every Saturday before we begin soccer practice,
Oscar leads the boys through the book of Proverbs.
We've got quite a few new faces on the team. PRAY that God's message of righteousness, judgement and future kingdom would cause them to trust in Jesus.

Inspired by the movie, Forever Strong, Jon calls the boys out from practice one-by-one
and talks to them about their families and asks for their prayer requests.
Here Eduin (U-12 MVP) reads through the Romans Road.

Though only here for a week,
Chuck and Mary were also initiated into daily life at the Ranch!

WEEK 21

As a staff, we take Sundays off from outreach and ministry activities.
However, we gather regularly for prayer, worship & Bible study.

The bus' final soccer practice. She was a faithful pack mule for Rancho Oasis.
As many of you know, we sold the bus to a missionary friend in Costa Rica
because we were unsuccessful at importing the bus into Honduras.
(We had out date wrong and missed the cut off by two months!)
Jon had quite the adventure traveling out of Honduras, through Nicaragua,
into Costa Rica and back again... but didn't bring his camera.
PRAY for a new ministry vehicle!

WEEK 22

Chelsey and Marillyn have found a common bound in art
and are using it to inspire new creations for the Taller CDP trade school.

True discipleship is found in godly imitation.
Here Oscar's son, Fernando, reads through a passage during boy's Bible study.

Chelsey filled in for Lucinda with the little boys during Wednesday's study.
Due to recent growth, we have split the boy's study into two groups.
PRAISE God for the extra help!

No bus, no problem!
Packing in the boys during a rain shower to bring them home...
mostly dry.

Tobi's creativity in finding places to sleep amazes me! LOL!

Happy 7 month birthday Poema Alizay!

Marillyn instructs through Chelsey's translation
to Keyla, Tania and Dunia during the Taller CDP cooking class.

Discussing "a living hope" during girl's Bible study:
1 Peter 1:3

Give a shout for Jesus!
I'm not sure, but I think girls Bible study crew is having fun!

This baby keet was born from an egg delivered from Comayagua
and roosted on by one of our regular chickens.
Guinea fowl are great for pest control and we were hoping to get some more;
unfortunately, this little guy didn't make it.

1 Peter 1:3-12

New King James Version (NKJV)

A Heavenly Inheritance

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen[a] you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us[b] they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.
