2012 - Week 19 Photo Review

Tania and Lesli relaxing & chatting before youth Bible study

Back on track with a "normal" week at the Ranch.
Enjoy the review and, as always, thanks for lifting the Beards,
Rancho Oasis and those we minister to in prayer!

Darlin, Noe and Ismael are looing for a little help during their English test!

I resumed English classes with the 5th and 6th graders in the local elementary school. PRAY that God would help these kids learn English and also open the doors to minister to them spiritually! (It has been great to stay in touch with them at school, but I'm ready to go deeper!)

Spaghetti and laughter: a great combination.
Our missionary friends, The Horst family made a visit to the Ranch on Monday. They are moving back to the States after ministering in Valle de Angeles for over 5 years. They blessed us with used home school curriculum, fellowship, mucking the stales and a new girlfriend (Chase) for our cat, Arana.

Chase finding out there is really no easy way to come down from the house rafters!

Cousins, Leandro and Crisna, helping set the posts for the community garden.

We don't want the kids to burn out with the difficult labor of putting up the garden fence,
so we had them pick some veggies from our personal garden.
They were amazed at the great size of the carrots; plus, they took them home to bless their families.
PRAY for continued interest and wisdom to build the community garden!

Nearly finished fence: Oscar, Crisna and I.

Las Cruces / The Crosses - a traditional Catholic display of adoration near the Ranch.
It looks nice, but  many of the locals really worship and pray to the crosses.
Another example of the strange blend of religion and tradition in Honduras.

Cousins: Cesar and Nexser showing off their know-how;
earning points to win themselves a guitar.
PRAY for the spiritual growth of these boys (and Melissa).

Nomi getting some face paint at our favorite pizza place in Tegus.

Dania and Karen studying Proverbs 31 - The Virtuous Woman
In honor of mother's day, I had the girls study Proverbs 31.
They each were required to find at least 5 characteristics of a virtuous woman. We reflected on many of the traits, their moms and the goal to one day be a godly woman and mother!
PRAY for the Spirit to move in these girl's lives!

Girls noting godly traits & Dania earning prizes for her Bible reading!

Many of the boys of Filipenses F.C.
Pepe, Elam, Ato, Brayan Samuel, Humberto, Jairo, Eric (goalie);
Leandro, Nexser, Tavie, Chanel, Chino, Dani, Eduar, Brayan Noe & Oscar.
After two weeks of training under our new system of rules (points based starting positions) it was time to put the boys to the test. The 8 - 12 year-olds played our Ojojonan rivals Real Lenca loosing 3 - 1. The teens played  much better against Atletico Santa Ana and tied in a very disputable time management issue of the ref. (If the game ended at 35 minutes - we would have won 3 - 2; if at 40 minutes - we would have won 4 -3, but that extra minute cost us the victory 4 - 4).
No worries, we're still in pre-season.
PRAY for the salvation and discipleship of these boys!

Mom and Dad out for the count:
Tobi likes to call this move "The Sleeper"

Another beautiful rainy season sunset

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.
Psalms 37:3-7a (NLT)

"High Five" - we're almost done!
